Childhood (2015) confronts the persistent myth that childhood is happy and carefree.  As adults, we want children to be happy: that is how we want to see childhood and portray children. But they experience the same negative and difficult emotions as adults — but with little to no perspective or experience to be able to process them or put them into context. Further, at no other point do people have such little control over their own lives.
